It will help us immensely dealing with them.Related Nintendo Subreddits. I've spent all day researching and trying to create a channel (wad) for New Super Mario Bros: Wii on my vWii. Back when I modded my original Wii, it was pretty straight forward - I used WiiGSC to make wad files from the game.wbfs backups, and I had wads for several games (that ran through USBLoaderGX) as individual channels on the home menu. (Note: I don't mean a forwarder for USBLoaderGX itself, but I mean a forwarder for each individual game I run though it). Now, I know original Wii.wads won't work on the Wii U vWii, but I found some programs that supposedly patch the wads to make them work on the vWii.
So my idea was to use WiiGSC to make a wad file then patch it with this 'Convert2vWii.bat' I found. But now I just get a black screen every time I open my 'New Super Mario Bros. Wii' channel on my vWii.There are also some other changes worth noting that could be causing this issue if it isn't just my perhaps incorrect way of making the.wad. I'm using CFG USB Loader instead because it allows me to run games from my SD card, which I'm doing. The game runs fine in the CFG USB Loader itself.I've seen a post on gbatemp.net about making custom game channels for Nintendont for Wii and vWii, so surely it has to be possible to do the same with a USB loader for vWii. So, am I using the wrong methods and programs for making my vWii wad files, or am I screwing something else up, perhaps with my USB loader or SD storage.
Are there better programs out there for making vWii wads?I appreciate any and all help with this issue if anyone else has made it work!. Well the banner bricks happen if the wad have bad banner (and than the wii menu can't be loaded). There are very few games that have bad banners (2-3 games, Mario Party 9 for example). The newest version of WiiGSC check for those games. So you should be totally safe using it.And I am pretty sure that the banner brick can be easily fixed now with HBL2HBC.
I think that even with banner brick HBL2HBC will work and get you to the vwii homebrew, so you willl be able to uninstall the bad wad. But I didn't check it.
